The Bluegrass Brewing Company (BBC) has been serving local and craft beers since their foundation in 1993. Headquartered in Louisville, BBC’s brews can be found all around the Midwest, Southeast, and further.
Joel Halbleib, Brewmaster and Vice President of Operations at BBC, took some time to share their story with us. They recently completed an expansion to accommodate increasing demand for their unique beers, especially the bourbon barrel brew. BBC will be one of 9 Kentucky breweries in attendance at “Savor Kentucky” Nov 1-2 in the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park, part of the first-ever Kentucky Gathering, a weeklong celebration of horses, heritage and hops. Along with craft beers, Savor Kentucky will also feature 32 bourbon samples and sampling from five delicious Kentucky artisan food vendors. Admission is free for food sampling, though a $10 ticket is required for beer and bourbon sampling and includes a commemorative 5-ounce pilsner glass. Free hourly trolleys from downtown.
